Last week I was asked what inspired me to go on my upcoming volunteer mission in Uganda.
I reflected a few minutes. I smiled as I remembered my initial inspiration came from a beautiful blog post my friend Davian wrote about her trip to Uganda last year. As I read about a baby girl she helped bring into this world at a rural birthing house, my arms startled to tingle. I could feel her energy, emotion and love in each word she had written. I was, incredibly inspired.
Months later when I found out Davian herself was organizing a trip back to Uganda to support and work with the birthing house again, I knew I had to go.
And now, 6 days from today, I will be going.
Beginning a new life of conscious activism. Having a new hope that perhaps I too can inspire someone to start a new beginning of their own.
